Athomas Goldberg is the President of Lifelike & Believable Animation Design, where he provides consulting on the design and implementation of digital actors for video games and other interactive content. His work has appeared in games from Electronic Arts, Relic Entertainment and other major game developers, as well as numerous interactive dance and theatre performances including, most recently, “The Return”, which ran through the month of July 2015 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC and “worlds”, which brought together live performers on three stages in two cities into a single shared virtual world and premiered in August 2015 at Emily Carr University. He began his career as a lighting and set designer in NYC, before joining NYU’s Media Research Lab, where he led the development of the Improv Animation System, one of the earliest examples of artificial intelligence used to drive the behavior of 3D digital actors. He frequently lectures on animation and narrative design for games and interactive content.
Kathleen is a director, actor, producer and educator. Recent directing projects include The Beaux’ Stratagem by George Farquhar, adapted by Ken Ludwig, Bard of the Bronx by John Patrick Shanley, The Seagull by Chekhov, Komagata Maru by Sharon Pollock, Mrs. Singh and Me by Munish Sharma (Pick of the Fringe) and the plays Iceland (Jessie nomination best director), Greenland, Faroe Islands and Ostrich (premiere), all written by Nicolas Billon.
After a 30+ year career with the Vancouver Park Board, latterly as Manager of Research and Planning, Mark is in a lengthy process of adjusting to retirement. His earlier adult life was spent creating and acting in (mostly) guerilla theatre, before he became enmeshed in civic bureaucracy. Free of that entanglement, he now has more time for writing, choral singing and reconnecting with the contemporary theatre scene. Mark initially became involved with PTC through coordinating the Vancouver component of Climate Change Action Theatre in 2015. This experience gave him an appreciation of PTC as a linchpin for local independent theatre, and motivates him, as a new board member, to help enhance its organizational profile.
Masa is a community organizer, activist, Hakawati (storyteller), writer and public speaker. She worked in different fields between Damascus and Dubai – from journalism, marketing, translation & interpretation, to being a professional basketball player and a basketball coach – all while pursuing a BA in Economics, majoring in Business Administration at the University of Damascus.
Since her arrival in Canada in Spring of 2018, she’s been actively advocating for refugee rights, education for youth and women’s rights, and constantly shedding light on the Syrian culture that seems to be forgotten from the conversation.
Masa is the Manager of Projects with Jumpstart Refugee Talent, a refugee lead organization that focuses on supporting refugee newcomers in achieving economical stability in Canada. She’s also an active member of the Syrian National Committee of United World Colleges since 2010, currently serving as Promotions Manager.
She strongly believes that education and the performing arts are the strongest tools that can inspire change in the world.
With a strong academic and practical background in the performing arts, Natasha is an urban communications professional who has worked across the country in high-level marketing positions at not-for-profit cultural organizations as well as in the corporate and agency sectors.
