On behalf of the team behind The Frontliners, Playwrights Theatre Centre is looking to cast two actors who need to be available for on or both of these engagements:

Designer Workshop (June 15th – 21st, 2022) and the Rehearsal and Fall Presentation dates (August 22nd – September 4th, 2022 rehearsal dates, September 6th – 18th, 2022 performance dates plus tech rehearsal). All performers will be engaged in CAEA contracts under the 2022-23 ITA agreement.

Show details:

Vancouver, BC 2016: It is late January 2016 and Canada is in the throes of resettling the first wave of 25,000 Syrian refugees. As three frontline workers battle Vancouver’s housing crisis to move families out of an East Van hotel, their lives are brought together in ways that irreversibly shape them.

We are casting the following one (1) role:

YUSUF – male-identifying – 45 – 65 years old. Black East African presenting. Immigrant (of African diaspora) living in Vancouver for the last thirty-three years. Suave, fatherly, and charming. Laughs at his own jokes.
