Do you have a vision for how PTC’s projects can connect with the community? Can you create a plan to make it happen?

If this is you, we’d love to hear your ideas for the Community Engagement Producer role with PTC.

PTC reimagines theatre by working with visionary artists from first ideas through first audiences. We are makers, whose ways of making reflect our curiosities and our values.

Our Community Engagement Producer (CEP) connects PTC’s artists and projects with the community, paying specific attention to the event itself and who the artist would like to reach. With a strong commitment to accessibility and relationships, the CEP will work with the Digital Producer, Program Manager, Accessibility Coordinator, Communications Manager and the contracted artists to determine and execute outreach activities and processes to support each individual project’s needs.

Projects include: UNSCRIPTED (March & June 2022), a short-form cross-platform digital project (ongoing through 2022) and a public workshop of new work (schedule tbc).

This position requires online work, so applicants must have access to their own phone, computer and internet access. Access to a vehicle is an asset.

Areas of responsibility:

  • Work with the artistic team to create a community engagement plan.
  • Research and connect with community connectors using culturally relevant protocols.
  • Work with the Communications Manager to create outreach strategies for the specific communities in question.
  • Work with the Communications Manager to build marketing strategies and content ideas for community engagement.
  • Work with the Accessibility Coordinator to incorporate access needs into the community engagement plan.
  • Interacting with the patrons and communities (whether online or in person) at each of the events.

Helpful skills:

  • Engagement experience involving social and/or community engagement (ie: outreach, hospitality, event planning, etc.)
  • Create clear written documents in English. (Whether English is your first language or not, we welcome you to apply.) Other language skills are a welcome asset.
  • Translate complex information into accessible content.
  • Consider cultural protocols as essential elements in communication engagement plans.

Terms:

Term: February 1, 2022 – July 31, 2022 with the possibility to renew.
Fee: $7000.00
This is a contract position, estimated 280 hours at $25/hr.
CEP must provide their own laptop or computer.

PTC’s office is on the ground floor at PL 1422. The access audit is available here. The successful candidate can create a mix of in-person and remote work in consultation with the team.

Candidates must be legally able to work in Canada.

PTC is unable to pay relocation costs.
