Submissions
- Complete the application form, and answer the questions to support the kind of feedback you want to receive.
- Upload your script with the completed application form
- Use a standard font (e.g. Time New Roman, Courier) at 12-pt for easy reading.
- Pages must be numbered, with the name of the play in the footer.
- Save your script as a PDF file
- Title your file: FirstInitialLastName_DRP.pdf
Fees + Additional Services
1. Standard DRP Service — $275 + GST
Get thoughtful, focused feedback on your draft.
Have a draft of your script ready to share? Our Standard DRP Service pairs you with a dramaturg who will engage deeply with your play and the questions you’re asking about it.
When you submit, include 3–5 questions or areas of inquiry to help focus the dramaturg’s response. You might be exploring a central question, feeling stuck on a particular element, or working towards a specific goal for your next draft.
You’ll receive a detailed, multi-page dramaturgical report tailored to your play and your questions, delivered within four weeks of submission.
2. Preparatory Conversation with a Dramaturg — $25 + GST
Start the process with a conversation.
Want to talk through your draft before your dramaturg gets to work? Add a 15-minute video conversation with the dramaturg assigned to your play.
Use this time to ask your questions live, share context about your work, or talk through what you’re hoping to get from the DRP process.
This is an add-on to the Standard DRP Service. You must register for both services before the conversation can be scheduled.
3. Follow-Up DRP Service — $200 + GST
Keep developing your play with your dramaturg’s support.
Ready to take your play into its next draft? The Follow-Up DRP Service gives you another opportunity to receive focused dramaturgical feedback on the play you originally submitted.
We’ll return your new draft to the same dramaturg, who will respond to the changes you’ve made, your developing work, and any new questions you have.
4. Follow-Up Consultation with a Dramaturg — $75 + GST
Turn your feedback into your next steps.
Received your DRP report and want to talk it through? A one-on-one consultation gives you dedicated time with your dramaturg to unpack the feedback, ask questions, and consider where to take your play next.
This 60-minute video conversation is an opportunity to move from feedback to action and identify the next steps that make sense for your draft.
This is an add-on to the DRP Service and can only be scheduled after your initial report has been completed.
5. Additional Dramaturgical Assistance — $75 + GST/hour
Get extra support when your process needs it.
Sometimes you need more than a report. Additional Dramaturgical Assistance provides flexible, one-on-one support tailored to your project.
Depending on your needs, this could include formatting or proofreading, research consultation and guidance, or other dramaturgical support.
We’ll match you with a dramaturg based on the type of assistance you’re looking for.
This is an add-on to the DRP Service.
Charging the above fee allows us to cover the costs of the DRP, including paying professional dramaturgs a fair wage. If the fee is a barrier to you, please email joanna@playwrightstheatre.com. We are happy to arrange a payment schedule.
