PTC Announces WrightSpace Artists for 2018

3

This year’s PTC WrightSpace residency (Dec. 5 – 15, 2018) brings four writers together with dramaturgs, actors, designers, and language consultants to crack open four scripts through bespoke dramaturgical processes. Barbara Adler, Tai Amy Grauman, Robert Hamilton and Yvonne Wallace are exploring the content as well as the processes they use to create.  Our Guest Dramaturg this year is Jiv Parasram.

Barbara Adler’s Koiker lives at the intersection of play and performance art as it focuses on Jason, a Koiker, the Dutch word for Decoy Man, the one who lays the trap.  In You Used to Call Me Marie, Tai Amy Grauman creates three worlds in three separate times, where a mythical/historical/fictional couple live, love, and carry forward centuries of history. Robert Hamilton is crafting a memoir of coming out in the time of AIDS and HIV with his work Our Story.  Yvonne Wallace continues to develop Utszan in English and Ucwalmicwts into a play which also functions as a combination story/language reclamation project.

Process development is already underway as PTC matches the projects with guest artists who will assist in bringing them to life.
