PTC welcomes Anjela Magpantay
We’re thrilled to bring Anjela Magpantay on board as Producing Intern for 2017-18, a position generously funded by a BC Arts Council Early Career Development grant.
Anjela is a first generation Canadian originating from the Philippines. She graduated from Simon Fraser University with a BFA in Theatre Performance. In her theatrical practice she works as an actor, clown, director, writer, dramaturg and teacher. Her current performance practice is influenced by the Grotowski Training offered by Raina von Waldenburg, and David MacMurray Smith’s Character Transformation Through Clown. She is a Co-Founder of New(to)Town Collective (N(t)TC) and is a workshop producer for teachers like Ruth Zaporah and Mary Overlie under the company Neon Elephant Circus.
Anjela is currently interested in performance as a healing ritual that is transmitted through the performer. She is inspired by the effects of humour in the theatre, home-cooked food and Madonna.
