Maraya Franca joins us from the School for the Contemporary Arts at SFU as the PTC Platforms Assistant. She will be learning about dramaturgy and social media as she supports Maria Zarrillo and the artists sharing digital traces of their projects in process later this season. She will be on site with Mermaid Spring, and witnessing processes with the Associates in March.

Maraya is currently in her 5th year at Simon Fraser University, studying Theatre Performance within the School for the Contemporary Arts. She plans on graduating soon, and is very excited for what the future could hold. She loves acting and devising, but is also currently really interested in directing, dramaturgy, social media management, and writing for TV. She immigrated to Canada from Brazil almost two decades ago, and currently resides in Coquitlam, home to the Kwikwetlem First Nations, with her parents, brother, and dog, who she loves more than anything. She’s very grateful for this opportunity to intern with PTC and immensely lucky to learn, watch, and grow alongside such a kind, passionate, and talented team.
