PTC and The Public Swoon invite you to enjoy a taste of the development of Mermaid Spring, a new work of interdisciplinary music theatre focused on deep co-creation, slow process and social handcraft.
Witness textile artist and representative of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm nation, Debra Sparrow’s talk about the practice of weaving and its connection to her ancestors, the land and each other. Follow that video with textile artist and Mermaid Spring collaborator Heather Cameron’s written reflections on visible mending and its deep roots within her practice.
Finally, settle in and let two of the project’s songs, Women Like Us* and Flinches** carry you off into the world of Mermaid Spring.
