Join Christina Cook this June for a two-day workshop, Gender Liberation & Your Story: Trans Auto-Narratives on Stage. Creating trans, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming autobiographical narratives for the stage challenges cisnormative discourses and misinformation currently dominating media, political, and health contexts, and champions the countless ways of traversing, living across, or outside of rigid gender binaries.

This workshop will explore strategies for trans, nonbinary, and gender-nonconforming playwrights who want to explore autobiographical narratives in their work. Trans ways of knowing suggest alternative forms and tools for embodying auto-narratives on stage, including genre agnosticism and fiction-as-autobiography. These playwriting practices are rooted in transformation, advocacy, and relational care and connection.
