Alyssa Formosa

Artistic Associate


Alyssa Formosa (she/they) is a Maltese-Canadian theatre creator living on the unceded and stolen territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) peoples. Her passions for theatre and humanity fuel the work that she does. As a playwright, dramaturg and performer, Alyssa has been involved with the Fringe Festival, Or Festival, Festival Dionysia, IGNITE! Youth Festival and NTS Drama Festival, as well received development through LEAP (Arts Club), Block A (PTC), Creatryx 3.0 (Nightwood Theatre), Dreaming Climate Consciousness (Major Matt Mason Collective), The Family Flame (The Flame Storytelling Series and Carousel Theatre) and Telling It Bent (frank theatre). Alyssa strives to build community through her work and strongly believes that anyone can make art. Outside of the studio, you might find Alyssa up a mountain or playing an unconventional sport!
