Renee Fajardo

Born and raised in Manila, Renee is a Filipino mezzo-soprano, opera producer, and theatre educator who has performed on the opera stage and as a solo recitalist in the Philippines, UK, Europe, and Canada. She is currently based within the unceded territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, and other hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ (hun’qumi’num) speaking Peoples. She is an active collaborator in the music and theatre communities in Canada and is the current Education Manager at Gateway Theatre, and the Artistic Producer for Sound the Alarm; Music/Theatre. Renee believes that the arts are a place where everyone should feel like they belong. On non-rainy days, she zooms around Richmond on her e-scooter!
